10-25-24 THOUGHTS
God’s blessing upon those “who consider the helpless” begins our thinking this morning. David’s enemies wish to hasten his death. They devised his hurt! David’s enemies prophetically become the betrayer of Messiah, as Jesus borrows from verse 9 and applies it to Himself. We ourselves are “the helpless” ones when sin is the topic. Thank You, our God, for the salvation that is in Christ Jesus. Christ’s Victory is our deliverance!
Ps 41:1-9 How blessed is he who considers the helpless; The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble. 2 The LORD will protect him and keep him alive, And he shall be called blessed upon the earth; And do not give him over to the desire of his enemies. 3 The LORD will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health. 4 As for me, I said, "O LORD, be gracious to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You." 5 My enemies speak evil against me, "When will he die, and his name perish?" 6 And when he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood; His heart gathers wickedness to itself; When he goes outside, he tells it. 7 All who hate me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt, saying, 8 "A wicked thing is poured out upon him, That when he lies down, he will not rise up again." 9 Even my close friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.
John 13:18 "I do not speak of all of you. I know the ones I have chosen; but [it is] that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘HE WHO EATS MY BREAD HAS LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME.’ [This occurred just after Jesus washed feet!]
My Prayer:
O Lord of all creation, we praise You for the victory that is in Christ Jesus. We thank You for Love, and Grace and Mercy. How great You are! May we be as children who love their Father.
Help us to find an “abba” relationship with You. Give us a closer walk with You each day. Help us to abide in Your presence. All our righteous acts are like filthy rags. Thank you for considering our helpless estate. In the name of our Savior, Amen.
